JUNG HEE LEE-MARLES

In my head I have an imaginary room with a large blank canvas in it. Things are happening in this room all the time – I’m sketching things, drawing things and painting things. In my studio I try to transfer those mental images onto real canvases.

My artwork references traditional Korean motifs, yet my focus on abstraction and the richness of colour and texture is rooted firmly in Western culture.
